The speakers

Dean Faulkner | Formance 

Dean is an experienced builder and project manager who joined Formance in 2019. With expertise in technical project management, collaborating with architects and engineers, and streamlining processes, Dean now leads R&D and technical support, driving innovation and excellence at Formance.  

Nick Hubbard | Formance

With over a decade at Formance, Nick has been pivotal in advancing the adoption of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) in New Zealand’s construction industry. Drawing on his background in advanced manufacturing and the automotive sector, Nick combines innovation and expertise to challenge traditional building methods and drive positive change in the industry.

  

Sophie Hermann |Space Division

Sophie is a registered architect at Space Division, with experience in residential and educational projects in Switzerland and New Zealand, incorporating Formance SIPS to some locally designed homes. She is particularly interested in architecture that benefits communities and the built environment, with a commitment to creating spaces that are not only healthy, comfortable and durable, but also encourage delight, craft, light and volume to be equally celebrated.

  

James Knight | Constructure

James Knight has led Constructure’s Auckland office since 2015, building strong relationships with architects, builders, and project managers across the region. He has worked on many Formance projects and is highly regarded for his collaborative approach and technical expertise. James also lives in a Formance home, giving him first-hand experience of the performance and comfort SIPs provide.  

Frank Kang | Winstone Wallboards Ltd (GIB)

Frank Kang is a Technical Support and Development Engineer at Winstone Wallboards with over six years of experience. During this time, he has provided expert guidance to customers and developed specialized expertise in areas such as bracing, noise control, and fire engineering. Holding a Master of Engineering in Fire Engineering, Frank combines technical knowledge with a passion for delivering innovative solutions and exceptional support.  

  

Alex Reiche | The Building Excellence Group

Alex Reiche is an Environmental Scientist and one of New Zealand’s leading Homestar consultants. With a background in sustainable design, materials, and assessment systems, Alex brings a practical, solutions-focused approach to every project. His expertise is now delivered through The Building Excellence Group. He has also built a Formance SIP home for himself, giving him valuable firsthand experience of high-performance building.
